| Nestled in the Ozark Mountains,
just south of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Stout Mountain Lavender is a
small boutique lavender farm that specializes in the production of
Munsted and Hidcote varieties. Established in 1995, our lavender is
sold through the internet and at local farmers markets. Lavender represents love, devotion, and loyalty; and has been gathered for centuries as a healing herb. It is used with aromatherapy for the relief of stress and headaches; the induction of sleep and calmness; and the relief of pain, especially from burns. Several hospitals around the nation are now using lavender in their maternity wards for the benefit of the babies and the mothers. Making a doll for a child or placing one of our sachets near a crib will calm an active child as well as make things smell fresh and clean. Stout Mountain Lavender carries two varieties of Lavender, Hidcote and Munsted, to provide customers with a nice combination of different plants. Both varieties are part of the lavandula angustifola family, not to be confused with Lavindin, which is similar to Lavender but supposedly does not possess the healing properties that Lavender does. Hidcote is known for its dark navy-blue flowers. There are over 2000 blooms per plant. Munsted is a compact plant with approximately 700 blooms per plant. There are quite a few “recipes” for baths, hair care, and skin tonics that one can use our Lavender blooms in. Lavender can also be used in food and crafts.
